Are you interested?
Are you interested in the topic of caste, Buddhism, and emancipation based on the philosophy of Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar? If so, steering committee for the Dr. Ambedkar International Symposium on Emancipation (ASE) being planned for April 21, 22, 23, 24,25 and 26 in Vancouver, Canada, would be pleased to invite you to register through the registration page at www.ase2023.ca.
We are also pleased to announce that the renowned thinkers, Dr. KP Singh and Dr. Suraj Yengde, have agreed to assist the steering committee in planning and designing the structures and outcomes for the symposium.
Dr. Yengde is a postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School and author of the Best Seller book, Caste Matters.
Dr. Yengde believes that although challenges in addressing caste and race are different, it is important to collaborate with movements working for a similar vision.
Dr. KP Singh, a scholar and a strategist, was a chair for the International Dalit Conference hosted in Vancouver in 2003. He believes that while the Vancouver Declaration was important in changing thinking on representation in the private sector in face of the rise in globalization, liberalization, and privatisation, it is now time to re-think, re-brand, and re-strategize (3-Rs) for the 21st century.
Dr. Singh plans on collaborating with the Dr. Ambedkarite thinkers on producing what he calls, "Dr. Ambedkar Manifesto - a roadmap for taking the caravan forward from the reservation to emanicipation!"
The symposium will be hosted at University of British Columbia on April 21 and 22 and Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti- Equality Day will be on April 23 at Fraserview Banquet Hall.
Nominal registration fee may apply.
